About Ocoee, FL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

In the mid-1850s, a camp in the area that would become Ocoee was set up.  It was built in order to prevent malaria outbreaks with clean water from the surrounding lake. As the camp grew, it transformed into a village and the name was changed to Starke Lake, a name the lake upon which the group settled bears to this day. The city's population enlarged more after the American Civil War as confederate combatants and their relatives established homesteads in the area.  The name was later changed by a local landowner’s request.  It was named for a river near his childhood home in Tennessee. Today, the community is a quiet and safe home for many retirees, families, and people who just love a suburban lifestyle.  The year-round beautiful weather and proximity to Orlando make it a no-brainer.

But, it’s not just the pools, water parks and amazing weather that attract people to this area.  Jobs in the tourism industry, hospitality and medical fields are all quite bountiful.  Medical professionals, for example, can find work at Orlando Health or Florida Hospital. The Orange County Convention Center is the second-largest convention facility in the country, as well, making it an amazing place to live for any businessperson, as well.  However, many of those who want to work and play in Orlando want peace and quiet at home.  And, that is what Ocoee offers!

The geography of the area is generally wetlands.  There are many lakes, swamps and estuaries that run through the area.  The largest lake in the area is Lake Apopka. But, there are dozens dotting the local terrain.  Because the ground is generally low and flat, these bodies of water create a wetland environment which is rich in wildlife and perfect for those who love the outdoors.  With beautiful weather in every season – you can boat, swim, fish, or just sunbathe at any time of year!
